The 2026 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is an extraordinary performance sedan, and its black finish deserves the same level of attention as the vehicle itself.

This Blackwing arrived at AMR Detailing Co. in Kenner, Louisiana, with deep scratches, noticeable swirl marks, and sanding marks left behind from the dealership's preparation process. Rather than simply applying ceramic coating over those defects, we first addressed the condition of the paint with a Level 2 Paint Correction.

Once the paint was properly refined, the Blackwing received our Level 3 Ceramic Coating Package, providing comprehensive protection for the paint, glass, wheels, calipers, leather, and trim.

A vehicle being brand new doesn't necessarily mean the paint is perfect. During our inspection, we found several noticeable defects throughout the Blackwing's black finish, including deep scratches, swirl marks, and sanding marks from the dealership's preparation process.

On black paint, imperfections like these can be especially noticeable. They reduce the clarity of the reflections and keep the finish from looking as deep and glossy as it should.

Instead of coating over those defects, we took the time to properly prepare the paint first.

The Blackwing received a Level 2 Paint Correction, carefully refining the finish and removing as many correctable imperfections as possible while improving the overall clarity, gloss, and appearance of the paint.

REFINING THE BLACKWING'S BLACK FINISH

Black paint can be unforgiving. Every swirl, scratch, haze, and sanding mark has the potential to show through the finish.

Once the correction process was completed, the black paint had significantly improved clarity and reflection.

The goal wasn't simply to make the Cadillac look cleaner.

ARMOUR DETAIL SUPPLY PRO CERAMIC COATING

Once the Level 2 paint correction was completed, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing was ready for its ceramic coating.

For this build, we selected Armour Detail Supply Armour PRO Quartz Coating, a high-solids quartz coating engineered for durability, gloss, and chemical resistance. Armour PRO uses the brand's LayerSync Bonding system, a dual-phase reactive system designed to create a strong bond to the surface and form a denser, cross-linked coating structure during installation.

That matters because we weren't simply looking to make this Blackwing look glossy. The goal was to protect the finish we had just spent the time correcting.

Armour PRO provides a hydrophobic surface that helps repel water and dirt while offering resistance against common environmental contaminants such as bug splatter, bird droppings, tree sap, stains, and chemical etching. It also provides UV protection to help defend the finish against fading and oxidation.

COMPREHENSIVE PROTECTION

This Level 3 Ceramic Coating Package went far beyond protecting the paint. We protected multiple surfaces throughout the Blackwing to create a more comprehensive protection system. The result was a properly refined and comprehensively protected Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, with protection extending across the surfaces that see daily exposure—not just the paint.

PAINT

The corrected painted surfaces received Armour Detail Supply Pro Coating, providing a durable layer of ceramic protection over the refined finish.

GLASS

The vehicle's glass was coated using Armour Glass Coating to provide hydrophobic protection and improve water behavior, helping make routine cleaning and maintenance easier.

WHEELS & CALIPERS

The wheels were removed from the vehicle and coated along with the calipers using Armour Wheel Coating. Removing the wheels allows us to properly access and coat the surfaces rather than limiting the application to what can be reached with the wheels installed.

LEATHER

The Blackwing's leather surfaces were coated using GYEON Leather Shield to provide an additional layer of protection against everyday use and help make the interior easier to maintain.

TRIM

The exterior grill & carbon fiber was also coated, extending protection beyond the painted body panels.

The result was a comprehensive ceramic coating package designed to protect far more than just the vehicle's paint.
